New Downlight Family
Designed for Concrete Ceiling Installation
Flush-mounted downlights create a very clean ceiling appearance for atriums, canopies, and other interior and exterior locations. BEGA has developed this family of compact recessed ceiling luminaires especially for flush installation in unplastered and plastered concrete ceilings, including precast and cast-in-place concrete. These luminaires make a fascinating visual impression, thanks in particular to the flush integration of the glass in concrete ceilings.
Available in 5 Distributions
Symmetric Narrow Beam
Symmetric narrow beam distributions with beam angles from 14°-20° are perfect for task lighting solutions.
Symmetric Wide Beam
Symmetric wide beam distributions with beam angles from 25°-35° can be used for both task and general area illumination.
Symmetric Very Wide
Symmetric very wide beam distributions with beam angles from 63°-85° are ideal for general area illumination.
Asymmetric Wall Washer
Asymmetric wall washers can be used to create general illumination while also washing a wall and highlighting the unique surface.
Asymmetric Wide Beam
Asymmetric distributions designed for the even illumination of ground surfaces in corridors and other interior and exterior locations.
Choosing the Appropriate Installation Type
Our standard housing is designed for use with formwork and an unplastered finish. If your project is going to have a plastered finish, choose the appropriate housing option. Upon completion of the ceiling, the luminaires simply insert into the recessed housing via a bayonet closure.
Toggle the tabs below to see the difference in componenets between the two installation types available.
Unplastered Concrete Ceiling Installation
1. Two opposing openings for installation conduits
2. Installation housing made of aluminum with stainless steel installation collar
3. An internal hook for the driver box enables convenient overhead installation
4. Upon completion of the ceiling, the luminaires are quickly and easily inserted into the installation housing via a bayonet closure
5. Optical silicone lens
6. Reflector surface made of pure aluminum
7. Symmetric narrow beam, symmetric wide beam, symmetric very wide beam, asymmetric wall washer, asymmetric wide beam distribution
Plastered Concrete Ceiling Installation
1. Two opposing openings for installation conduits
2. Installation housing made of aluminum with stainless steel installation collar
3. Bracket for mounting on the formwork
4. An internal hook for the driver box enables convenient overhead installation
5. Leveling ring for adjusting the on-site plaster thickness
6. Upon completion of the ceiling, the luminaires are quickly and easily inserted into the recessed housing via a bayonet closure
7. Optical silicone lens
8. Reflector surface pure aluminum
9. Symmetric narrow beam, symmetric wide beam, symmetric very wide beam, asymmetric wall washer, asymmetric wide beam distribition
Choosing Recessed Ceiling Downlights
Choosing whether to use recessed or surface ceiling fixtures can be challenging. When making your decision, it is important to understand the different design effects. Traditionally, ceiling luminaires are used for general space illumination. Their light can be diffuse or directed, with distributions varying from wide area lighting to very narrow, focused, accent lighting in both indoor and outdoor spaces. In large spaces where a single fixture will not provide sufficient lighting, or there is a low ceiling, it is best to utilize recessed lighting to avoid clutter. These luminaires are either flush with the finished ceiling surface or include a slightly below-surface glass and/or trim, giving them an exceptionally clean look. With the majority of the fixture residing within the space above the ceiling, these fixtures are usually selected before construction begins to allow for proper integration into the ceiling system.
Your LEDs are Protected
What happens when an LED comes to the end of its service life? Where can you obtain a replacement for this electronic component? Do customers have to seek out new modules, or replace luminaires or entire lighting systems themselves? Perhaps nowhere are these questions more relevant than for luminaires cast in concrete. BEGA’s in-house production of LED light engines enables us to deliver matching LED modules for up to 20 years after the purchase of an LED luminaire.
