Made in America

In the realm of US public infrastructure projects, BEGA is dedicated to compliance with domestic content laws such as the Buy American Act (BAA) and Build America/Buy America Act (BABA).

BAA/BABA Overview

The Buy American Act(BAA) and Build America/Buy America Act (BABA) are designed to promote US industry development, and mandate that a significant portion of the materials and components used in public projects originate domestically. BEGA’s products are categorized as “Manufactured Products,” meaning the domestic content is determined by the cost of components that underwent their last “substantial transformation” in the US.

BAA applies to direct federal procurement, with escalating domestic content thresholds: 60% since October 2022, 65% starting in 2024, and 75% by 2029.

BABA focuses on federally funded grants for infrastructure projects, requiring that over 55% of a product’s components by cost be US-sourced.
