Outpatient clinical facility for UC San Diego Health
The Koman Family Outpatient Pavilion is the newest addition to the state-of-the-art La Jolla medical campus for UC San Diego Health. A $140 million project, this 150,000 sq. ft. building acts as a supporting facility for the neighboring Jacobs Medical Center, and consolidates several previous outpatient centers in one location. Eight surgery suites for minimally invasive procedures, basic and advanced imaging, physical therapy and pain management, as well as infusion and apheresis services are all offered in the four story complex.
Physical therapy patients have access to numerous interior and exterior spaces for rehabilitation. Winding walking paths are lined with BEGA bollards. The symmetric distribution lights the paved pathway while also highlighting some of the tall grasses commonly found in the landscaping. Ramps and stairways near the pavilion are safely illuminated for patients and medical personnel to use at any time of day by BEGA recessed wall luminaires. Light Building Elements with symmetric light distribution comfortably illuminate the entire entrance courtyard for the complex.
